About

I am Alejandro Barahona, Level 2 Instructor at Rancho Park Achery Range in LA.

Rancho Park Archery Range is located at Cheviot Hills Recreation Center, 2459 Motor Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90064, just south of Century City and the Fox Studios.
There are free archery classes every Saturday at 11AM and the second Sunday of every month at 1:30PM. We also provide all the equipment for free.

Once you take the class, you can come back to the range and shoot during our Open Shooting Times Saturdays from 9:30AM to 12PM, Sundays from 12PM to 3:30PM. And once you have more experience, Wednesdays from 6:30PM to 8PM, and yes, there is no rental fee. If you want private lessons, I can organize classes for groups or individuals.

If you have any questions about archery or are interested in classes, you can reach me at losangelesarchery@gmail.com.

I will be visiting Los Angeles for a few days on the 18th-21st of this month (November), your web site is not clear, what are your drop in rates? I have my own bow and shoot regularly at my local club. Can you let me know?

    • Hi Mike,
If you have your own equipment there is no fee, and you can shoot whenever the range is open. If there is a class or if the range is reserved, you will have to check with the coach in charge.

  2. Hello,

I am a novice practicer of the recurve bow here in Brazil, and I am will be at LA for one month, from next week. I don’t have the equipment. Is it possible to rent it or something to practice with you guys?

    Thanks,
    Rod

    Hi,

I was wondering if there will be a class for beginners tomorrow at 11am (Sat. 11/27/2010)? Just wanted to check since it is the Thanksgiving weekend. I am interested to bring my 8 year old son to have our 1st lesson together.

    Thank you very much.

    Ben

How old do you have to be to try the 11 a.m. Saturday practice? Thank you for your response.

  5. Jasper says:

I’m 13, are there any classes or practices I can take? I’m wondering, because in an above answer you said you have to be 8 to 9.

    • Hi Jasper,

Yes, at Rancho Park Archery Range, we have a free class every Saturday at 11AM and the second Sunday of the month at 1:30PM. That would be the best first option.
If you are still interested after that, you can continue shooting at the range during the open shooting times, Saturdays from 9:30AM to 12PM and Sundays from 12 to 3PM.

    Hi,

How much does it cost to use the equipment and the range on a non-free day like a weekday? And also do we have to attend the safety course on that Saturday or can this be on a weekday? I’m a first timer.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    • HI Mike,

Before you can use the range equipment, you have to take the free Saturday or Sunday class or schedule a private class with a instructor. Once you do that, you can use the range equipment during open shooting times, Saturdays from 9:30 to noon and Sundays from 12 to 3PM.

      Alejandro

    Hi Alejandro,
I can’t get to the weekend safety class however, I would love to schedule a private class.
Can you let me know what your schedule is for that and how much it will cost.
    Thanks very much.

coming to visit LA next week. Is the range open to the public on sat mornings. We have our own bows and we shoot daily at our home range. What are the daily rates to use the range

    • If you have your own equipment, you can come at the range at any time while the park is open. If a class is taking place at the same time, just talk with the instructor in charge, and shoot from the same line they are shooting.

    Hello,

I wrote an email earlier in the month to the address provided on the site, but I never received a response. I wanted to inquire about a private archery lesson at your range. The lesson would be for a group of 5-10 adults. We are all beginners and don’t have any of our own equipment. Could you please contact me with pricing information. I’m hoping to do it August 2nd.

    Thank you,

    William

  19. Raina says:

    Hello,

As per my knowledge, the Archery was supposed to reopen around September 2015. It has been over two months since the given dates. I would really appreciate an update on when the range will reopen. Thank you!

Hello, are these lessons still happening?
